Looking back I have to say that driving the extra hour or so to get north of Paducah, Kentucky was a good thing. It left me with a 5.5 hour drive today to get to the State Fair Ground a Sedalia, Missouri. The RV handles well but it is still a long drive. Add to that traffic and construction in St. Louis. Speaking of traffic the tire on a utility trailer blew out just after it had passed me. It\u2019s a really impressive view from the RV when that happens. You not only get the sound you see the tire parts go flying. Fortunately it was just far enough ahead of me that none of it hit me. The driver did a good job to keep it under control and head to the right shoulder without incident.<\/p>\n

The topic of mileage comes up frequently when talking about the motorhome. So I will share that my most recent stop showed 7.19 mpg. That includes towing the truck and wondering around the back roads in the Land Between the Lakes. The tank before got 7.69 mpg. That a fix of in town driving and the first day on the road. I can also share that fuel prices in Missouri are at least 20 cents a gallon lower than in Illinois or Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Speaking of fueling I have found that I can make some very tight turns with the truck trailing behind the RV. The truck really does follow the path of the RV. Hard to believe from the photo below that the truck cleared with narrie a scratch. The outside pump seems attractive but perhaps I should try the inside pump next time.<\/p>\n

Got some good pictures of the setting sun here in Sedalia this evening. Also a couple of some of the RV\u2019s that have arrived for the Rally. These are the early arrivals; the official start in tomorrow.<\/p>\n
