So a couple of people have asked, where is Mike? Or more specifically where is the blog? The blog is in my head, I think of something every day while I am driving. All I need is a dictation App that will record my mutterings while I drive. Of course then I will need a very good editing App to clean up the side bars that pop in when some operator of a motor vehicle demonstrates how thoughtless they can be. That’s a subject for another day.

After much planning and the delivery of essential parts, I was able to hook the truck up behind the RV. The short drive back to the farm in Monroe was successful. Then on Sunday I packed up and headed out for Sedalia, Missouri; with the truck in tow. By Monday evening I had made it to Fort Massac on the edge of Metropolis, along the Ohio River. Seems Lewis & Clark started their famous expedition from here. It’s a nice park with a fair size campground.

Much too my surprise there is a Metropolis Lighthouse on the Ohio. Quoting from their brochure “World’s first lighthouse dedicated to the fight against cancer.” Located in Dorothy Miller Park in Metropolis – the Home of Superman. I got a picture of the lighthouse not the Superman or Lois Lane statues, maybe next time.

I  also made a short drive through the “Land Between the Lakes” in Kentucky, earlier in the day. Drove down some narrow wooded roads, all paved. Stopped for lunch at the visitor’s Center. Original plan was to leave earlier and send a day or two near here but that didn’t work out. Thought about spending the night there but decided to move on since the weather was nice.

Hove other thoughts wondering around in my head but need to get moving; five and half hours to the campground in Missouri and it will take a moment to post this.
